BBE's Veteran's Day Program

We will celebrate our veterans on Friday, November 10 at 9 a.m. in the cafeteria. Please invite veterans and their spouses who have served our country to join us for breakfast at 8:30 in the library and then to a musical tribute followed by a balloon release.

This is our 26th year proudly honoring our veterans at Bear Branch Elementary. With that in mind, our annual Veteran’s Day tribute is quickly approaching. Like last year, we will have a Hall of Honor, as part of our heart felt celebration.

The Hall of Honor will be a display of posters of veterans grouped by their branch of service. Students are encouraged to create a poster in recognition of a veteran who is special to them. These posters will be proudly displayed in the Primary Hall during our Veteran’s Day activities.

If your child would like to make a poster to display, please observe the following criteria:

Posters should be no larger than ½ of a sheet of poster board, No foam boards.

Posters are due no later than Thursday, November 9, 2017 at 9 a.m. to the front office.

Posters should include the following information:

On the front:

  • Veteran’s name

  • Picture of the veteran (if possible) – Note: Please do not send original photos

  • Branch of service (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine, Coast Guard) and Dates of Service (if known)

  • Rank (if known)

  • If on active duty during a war, include name of war in which veteran served

  • Veteran’s relationship to the student (i.e. parent, aunt, grandparent, family friend)

  • BBES student’s name on front (if desired)
