Rachel Turnage was born in 2006 and, at the age of 3, was diagnosed with leukemia, a rare form of blood cancer. For the next 7 years, Rachel battled cancer with high doses of chemotherapy and radiation. Her hero was Sonic the Hedgehog, who is known for defeating impossible obstacles, was always by her side. To this day, when people see Sonic, they think of Rachel. While receiving treatment, she took up piano, karate, Girl Scouts, as well as making the all-A Honor Roll for 3 y
